Cole Bunce Named CAA Football Special Teams Player of the Week

Villanova kicker connected on three field goals in Rhode Island game, including 45-yard attempt

RICHMOND, VA. – The CAA Football Conference today announced its weekly award winners. Villanova grad transfer Cole Bunce (San Jose, Calif.) was named the league's Special Teams Player of the Week. Bunce garners the award for his effort in Saturday's 40-37 overtime loss to Rhode Island.

In the Rhode Island game, Bunce went 3-of-3 in field goal attempts and 4-of-4 in extra points. One of the three field goals came in overtime when he connected on a career-long 45-yard effort to give Villanova a 37-34 lead. The 45-yard effort is also tied for the longest in the CAA this season.

After two games this spring season, Bunce is 5-of-6 in PATs and 4-of-5 in field goal attempts.

Bunce and the Wildcats will have a bye this week and will return to action on Saturday, March 27, when the New Hampshire Wildcats visit Villanova Stadium.
