Justin Coppola went 20-for-22 from faceoffs on Sunday in a 20-8 win against St. John's. The Wildcat also picked up 10 ground balls and added a goal and an assist to his game resume. He scored the seventh goal of the outing at 14:51 in the second period. He also assisted the eventual game winner, 2-1, with 9:51 to play in the first quarter. It was Coppola's first goal and assist of the year. He is 58-for-92 from the faceoff dot (.630). Sunday's game was the first time the Wildcats have scored 20 goals since March 6, 2016.
Goodelle made his first collegiate start at attack on Sunday against St. John's. The freshman attacker finished with six points as he scored three goals and assisted another three. He scored the fourth, 13th and 15th goals of the day. He assisted Villanova's first goal of the game with 10:02 left in the first period. The assist was his first collegiate point.
Khan scored twice and assisted five as he accounted for seven goals in Villanova's 20-8 rout of St. John's on Sunday. Khan leads the team with 18 points on eight goals, 10 assists.
Villanova will return to action on Sunday when they take on the Denver Pioneers. First faceoff is scheduled for 11:00 A.M
