Box Score             No. 12 Georgetown grabbed an early lead with a goal in the seventh minute and went on to post a 7-0 victory over Villanova in a BIG EAST women's soccer match played Sunday at Shaw Field in Washington, D.C.

           The Hoyas improved to 9-0-1 overall, 7-0-1 BIG EAST while the Wildcats fell to 2-8-2 overall, 1-5-2 BIG EAST.

           Gia Vicara scored the first of her three first half goals for the Hoyas at 6:14 from the right side. She collected a loose ball around a cluster of Nova defenders and sent a left-footed shot that went inside the left post.

           Georgetown's pressure in the attacking third produced a second goal, this one at 19:12 by Grace Nguyen. Vicari then added a pair of goals less than three minutes apart midway through the period. A fifth Hoyas goal was scored at 37:25 by Daisy Cleverly.

Maria Thomas made a series of terrific saves over the course of the afternoon. She ended the day credited with six saves but made a series of other acrobatic moves to break up Georgetown scoring opportunities by coming off her line.

           The Hoyas added two more second half goals to make the final score 7-0.

           The Wildcats will face another nationally ranked foe on Thursday, this time on the home pitch at the Higgins Soccer Complex. Villanova hosts No. 2 North Carolina (13-1 overall, 8-0 Atlantic Coast Conference) at 1 p.m. (Nova Nation All-Access).
