Austin Nets Game Winner in the 101st Minute to Lift the Wildcats over the Pirates, 2-1

S. Orange, N.J.- Senior Bri Austin got a header to hit in the inside of the crossbar and fall in in the 101st minute to make the final 2-1 Villanova over the Seton Hall Pirates.

Seton Hall got on the board first in the 14th minute when Cassey Harrigan scored on a pass from Dani Camilleri.  Villanova would tie the game up at 1 just seconds before halftime when Makayla Stadler dished a long pass from the far side into the middle of the box.  There Sam Rosette was able to get a header to fall into the goal. 

 At the end of regulation, the Wildcats had taken 19 shots and placed 10 on goal. 

The game winning goal came in the opening minute of the second overtime.  Brice McInroy passed the ball from the middle of the field to Stadler who was on the far side.    There Stadler took one touch and sent the ball into the center of the box.  The ball fell right to Austin who was able to score and make the final 2-1 Villanova.

Megan McClay played all 101 minutes in goal and finished with seven saves, with five of those coming in the second half.

The Wildcats finish the season with a 3-10-2 overall record and 2-6-2 in BIG EAST play.
