RICHMOND, Va.—Villanova had 51 student-athletes from the football program named to the CAA Football Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll in an announcement made by the league office last week. The latest academic honors for the Wildcats are for the Spring 2021 semester. The football team previously had 43 selections to the Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll for the Fall 2020 semester.
 
Student-athletes are eligible for the Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll by being enrolled as a full-time student and having a grade point average of 3.0 or higher during the designated academic term. Villanova has earned a steady stream of academic honors since the end of the Spring 2021 semester, with 42 student-athletes being named to Athletic Director's Honor Roll for having a semester GPA of 3.2 or higher.
 
The spring season was a successful one on all fronts for the Wildcats, with four of the student-athletes who were named to the CAA Football All-Conference teams also earning a spot on the Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll. Those four student-athletes were junior wide receiver Dez Boykin, senior running back Justin Covington, senior defensive lineman Malik Fisher and senior offensive lineman Colin Gamroth.
