VILLANOVA, Pa. – The first race of the 2022-23 season has arrived for the Villanova rowing team as it gets set for the Navy Day Regatta to open its three-event fall slate on Sunday in Philadelphia.

This marks the team's first return to the event hosted by Saint Joseph's since the 2019-20 season. Villanova will compete in four races throughout the day starting with two shells in the Women's Collegiate Four+ at 10:04 a.m. followed by one group in the Women's Collegiate JV Eight+ at 11:04 a.m. and the final two boats in the Women's Collegiate Eight+ Final at 1:08 p.m.

"We are excited to get this first race under our belt," head coach Carissa Adams said. "The team is coming off of a very productive Fall break, and we were able to get a lot of hard work completed. This is a fun way to end the week. We are using this race as a learning opportunity for the Head of the Schuylkill in two weeks."
