VILLANOVA, Pa. – Villanova hosted its annual Blue/White Scrimmage Thursday night at Finneran Pavilion.

Angelo Brizzi scored four consecutive points in the first of three games of eight minutes in length. That put the White team into an early 4-3 lead before
Eric Dixon's short lefthanded jumper at the 5:41 mark pushed the Blue on top. A short jump hook by
Nnanna Njoku made it 6-5 before a
Brendan Hausen three from the right corner put the Blue up, 8-6.

Chris Arcidiacono made a short jumper for White to tie the game at eight midway through the period.

Jordan Longino buried a 3-ball from the right side to give the Blue an 11-8 edge. Another Longino bucket extended the edge to 13-8 before Brizzi found Njoku for a dunk to close the gap to 13-10. A Brizzi triple tied matters at 13. The final score found White on top 16-15.

The team rosters were altered for the second game. In this one, Dixon's work inside and Hausen from the outside helped the Blue gain an 11-7 advantage before a
Mark Armstrong 3-pointer with 26 seconds left shaved the deficit to 11-10. Two Dixon free throws with 13.1 seconds on the clock made it 13-10. A pair of Hausen free throws made it 15-10 for Blue with 5.3 seconds left. A Brizzi basket for the White made the final score a 15-12 Blue win.

Dixon and
Brandon Slater excelled in Game 3, both notching eight points for their respective squads. The White went on to post a 24-17 victory.

The Wildcats open the 2022-23 regular season on Monday, Nov. 7 when Philadelphia Big Five rival La Salle visits Finneran Pavilion (6:30 p.m.).
