VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Villanova women's lacrosse team announced a 17-game schedule for the 2023 season, featuring nine home games at Villanova Stadium. 

Coming off of a 5-11 season in 2022, head coach Jill Batcheller will begin her second season with the Wildcats, joined once again by assistant coaches Kelsea Donnelly and Maddison Lesher. 

"The overall feeling of the team is excitement," Batcheller said. "This team cares so much about this program. It shows in the way they treat each other, the way we train, and the way they believe in our vision. Last season we had a lot of close games that didn't go our way. We learned a lot from those games, the biggest lesson being that we are right there. This team has been locked in and excited to rewrite the ending of those close games from last year. We spent our time this fall focusing on the field and off the field in what could be the difference makers in these close games- specifically our mental game, our transition play, our team defense, and creating a more dynamic attack that focuses on the natural strengths of our team."

The Wildcats will take on challenging opponents including city rivals La Salle and Saint Joseph's, conference standouts such as Denver and UConn, and BIG 10 foe Maryland. 

Villanova will open its season with a scrimmage on Saturday, February 4th, on the road against Delaware at 11:00 a.m. BIG EAST play will begin on Saturday, April 1st, when the Wildcats travel to Denver.
