VILLANOVA, Pa. – After landing one New Jersey native in the transfer portal in late May, Villanova women's lacrosse rinsed and repeated the process this week as netminder Avery Gawronski pledged to the Wildcats. The graduate student from Mullica Hill recently wrapped up her undergraduate career at Notre Dame and now returns to the East Coast for a fifth year.

Notre Dame: Played four years with the Irish as a backup goalkeeper … Appeared between the pipes in one game during her senior campaign … Made a save in eight minutes against Cal … Missed freshman through junior seasons with injury … Served as team representative on ND's Student-Athlete Advisory Council and helped run SAAC social media.

Clearview Regional High: Named to the All-Conference First Team and South Jersey Times All-Area Team in 2019 … Broke school record for save percentage in a season (.518) … Ended high school career with a .528 save percentage … Also played basketball.

Personal: Daughter of Anne Casey and Anthony Gawronski … Earned a degree from Notre Dame in Film, Television and Theatre with a minor in Marketing … Worked as a teaching assistant at the Robinson Community Center in South Bend.
