MADDY SIEGRIST EARNS BIG EAST PLAYER OF THE WEEK HONORS

This Ties The Conference Record For Player Of The Week Awards

NEW YORK – The BIG EAST Conference today announced that Villanova senior forward Maddy Siegrist (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) has been named the league's Player of the Week. Siegrist earns the award for her performance in an 81-55 win over La Salle on Dec. 21.

This is the 12th time that Siegrist has garnered BIG EAST Player of the Week accolades in her Wildcat career which ties her with Louisville's Angel McCoughtry (2005-09) and Connecticut's Rebecca Lobo (1991-95) for the most player of the week honors in league history.

In the La Salle victory, Siegrist tallied a game-high 31 points to go with a game-best 11 rebounds. The 31 points came on 11-of-20 shooting and a 9-of-9 effort from the foul line. She now has five 30-point games this season and six double-doubles.

Siegrist currently ranks second in the nation in scoring at 28.0 points per game to go with a 9.7 rebounds per game average.

The Wildcats return to action on Wednesday, Dec. 28, with a road game at Marquette. Game time is set for 8 p.m., eastern time.
