Villanova, Pa.- The No. 20 Villanova men's lacrosse travel to New Haven, Connecticut to take on the No. 6 Yale Bulldogs on Saturday. The Wildcats are coming off a 13-12 win at Penn State last weekend while the Bulldogs will open their season this weekend. First faceoff is scheduled for 12:00 P.M. and can be seen on ESPN+.
Matchup History: The Wildcats and Bulldogs will faceoff for the fifth time this weekend with both teams winning a pair of the previous meetings. Yale won the last matchup in 2020 at Villanova Stadium by a final of 18-12 while Villanova defeated then No. 1 Yale 11-10 in OT on the road in 2019. This was the first win in program history over a No. 1 ranked team.
A Look at Villanova: The Wildcat's come into the weekend 1-0 after defeating Penn State 13-12 last weekend. Villanova used a goal in the final minute by
Patrick Daly to secure the season opening victory.
Villanova's Offense: Daly dominated against the Nittany Lion's last weekend scoring a career-high six goals, including the game winner. The senior was named USA Lacrosse Magazine Player of the Week for his career best day. Graduate transfers

J.P. Basile all made an impact in their first game in the blue and white. Keating finished with four points on a pair of goals and assists, Baskin netted a goal and assist, and Basile scored a goal.
Villanova' Defense:
Will Vitton made his 31
st career start against Penn State and finished with 13 saves and a .520 save percentage. Rookie
Tripp Robinson had a team high five ground balls and two caused turnovers while
Justin Coppola went 15-for-27 from the faceoff x and had five ground balls.
A Look at Yale: The Yale Bulldogs will be playing their first game since March 7
th, 2020. In 2021 the Ivy League did not compete due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Yale was voted to finished first in the Ivy League Preseason Poll while Chris Fake and Matt Brandau were named to Inside Lacrosse's Preseason All-American team.
