Facing Off: The Villanova Wildcats will host the Fairfield Stags on Saturday at 1:00 P.M. for their 2022 home opener. Both teams are 1-1 entering the game with the Wildcats coming off a 17-14 loss at No. 6 Yale while the Stags defeated Wagner last weekend 16-9.
Matchup History: Saturday will mark the 12
th meeting all-time between these two teams with the Wildcats winning eight of the previous meetings. On March 23, 2019 the Wildcats traveled to Connecticut and won 12-8. Fairfield's last win against Villanova came in 2015 at home by a final of 11-4.

Tripp Robinson has made an impact on the Wildcats defense in his first two games. Robinson has eight ground balls and three caused turnovers at LSM.
Justin Coppola has gone 31-for-58 from the faceoff x with a team high 15 ground balls.
Will Vitton has played 105 minutes in goals and has a 16.00 goals against average and .417 save percentage.
A Look at Fairfield: The Stags are coming off their first win of the season at home against Wagner. In the opening weekend Fairfield fell at Stony Book 13-12. In the CAA Preseason Coaches' Poll Fairfield was picked to finish sixth while midfielders Taylor Strough was named to the Preseason team. Strough and Bryce Ford lead their offense with eight goals each while Mike Drake has dished out a team high six assists. Colin Consoli has played just over 108 minutes in goal and has a 10.52 goals against average and .513 save percentage.
