ELKHART, Ind. – The second day of the College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Invitational Championship brought three events for Villanova to compete in on Friday at the Beacon Health Aquatic Center.
In the 800 Free Relay, the Villanova team of
Brenna McLaughlin,
Cara Stapleton,
Perri Stahl and
Francesca Raimondi turned in a 7:34.77 time that was good enough for 18
th.
Just one individual event was on Friday's slate of competition for Villanova. Stah lined up for the 100 Breast after setting a new personal mark at the BIG EAST Championships with a seed time of 1:03.16. She placed 37
th in the NIC field with a prelim time of 1:04.21.
Villanova had one other relay event but it was an exhibition swim in the 200 Medley with a time of 1:47.52 for the group.
The final day kicks off with prelims at 9:30 a.m. followed by finals at 6 p.m. The busiest day of the week for the 'Cats sees them compete in six events with at least one swimmer in each event. Stapleton will compete in the 100 Free while McLaughlin will take on both the 1000 Free and 1650 Free. The 200 Back will include Raimondi with Stahl competing in the 200 Breast. The week ends with the unit in the 400 Free Relay field.
