The Junior Is Averaging 25.9 Points Per Game

VILLANOVA, PA. – The Associated Press today announced its 2022 women's basketball All-American teams and Villanova junior forward Maddy Siegrist (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.) earned third team distinction. She becomes the first Wildcat since Laura Kurz in 2008-09 to garner All-American recognition.

In 25 games this year, Siegrist is averaging 25.9 points per game and 9.5 rebounds per contest, while shooting .498 from the field (241-of-484), including a 52-of-145 effort from three-point range (.359). The 25.9 points per game average ranks second in the latest NCAA national stats. Entering play in this week's NCAA Tournament, Siegrist has 20 games of 20 points or more and nine 30-point efforts to go with 12 double-doubles. Her best scoring effort of the season came against Marquette on Feb. 12 when she scored a career-high 42 points on 14-of-25 shooting from the field.

Siegrist currently ranks third on Villanova's all-time scoring list with 1,778 career points and she is sixth in rebounding with 749.

Villanova will be making its 12th all-time NCAA Tournament appearance this weekend when the 11-seeded Wildcats take on the 6-seeded Brigham Young Cougars at Crisler Arena in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Tip-off is set for 1 p.m.
