LOUDONVILLE, N.Y. – Villanova netted six goals to create the separation it needed to take down Siena, 15-12, on Sunday afternoon at the Siena Swim Center.
Facing a 7-7 game at the half, Villanova (15-11, 4-3 MAAC) put its foot on the gas with a 6-0 run spanning the second and third quarters to create just enough of a cushion from Siena (3-14, 0-4 MAAC). Senior utility
Kaysie Stuba netted her 12
th hat trick of the season with a four-goal outing, three of those coming in the third quarter. She added on an assist for a five-point day, moving her to 117 points on the season for the third-most in a single season in program history. She is now tied for fourth on the career points list. Amanda Rice also had a hat trick, her three goals marking a season-high.

After a goal from Siena in the first two minutes of play, Stuba and Rice quickly put Villanova back ahead before
Isabel Herbst continued the run with a powerplay goal for a 3-1 lead with 4:16 remaining in the quarter.
Adrienne Grimes connected on a penalty shot, sandwiched between goals from the Saints.
Emily McKenzie scored the final goal of the frame with 24 seconds left on the clock, making it a 5-3 lead for the 'Cats.
Siena opened the second quarter with a 3-0 run to take the lead but
Emily Morrissey put the match back even at 6-6 with a goal at the 4:40 mark. Georgia Vargas netted a shot with two and a half minutes left before Byles matched her with a goal to square the contest 7-7 at the break.
Her goal started a 6-0 blitz for the Wildcats that extended deep into the third quarter. Rice opened the second half with a goal just 30 seconds in. Byles added another before Stuba tacked on three more, the last being on a five-meter attempt. Vargas ended the Villanova run, cutting into the lead at 12-8 before
Amelia Baca got a goal back with 1:21 left before the fourth. Ashley Chand scored another for the Saints, sending the contest to the final period at 13-9 in favor of the 'Cats.
Rice solified her hat trick at the 4:23 mark to put Villanova up by five.
Joia McKinney extemded the lead nearly two minutes later, making it 15-9. Siena closed the contest with a 3-0 scoring run, two of those goals coming from Vargas.
Sarah Shaw allowed just five goals through the second half of action, making eight save while also tallying a steal and two assists.
Abigail Shelby grabbed a pair of saves, allowing seven goals.
Siena was led by a six-goal effort for Chand with Vargas adding on four. In net, Anna Mossakowski was forced to make seven saves and had two steals.
Next weekend brings a slew of home games for the 'Cats to start a six-game home stretch. LIU and St. Francis will be at the Villanova Swim Complex Saturday, April 2 before Siena and Marist come to town on April 3.
