Athlon Sports announced its 2022 FCS Preseason All-American team today with Villanova senior offensive lineman Michael Corbi (Arnold, Md.) earning a spot on the team.
 
Corbi started all 12 games he played in last season at left guard and was a first team All-CAA selection for the second straight year. He was one of the top performers on a Wildcats offensive line that gave up just 14 sacks all year. Villanova ranked second in the CAA and ranked 11^th nationally in sacks allowed, while the offensive line helped the team rank second in the CAA with 30.1 points per game and 380.0 yards of total offense per contest. Villanova topped 200 rushing yards in a game five times, scored 22 rushing touchdowns and averaged 170.0 yards per game on the ground.
 
For his efforts last year, Corbi garnered STATS Perform FCS second team All-American acclaim. 
 
Villanova is set to open the 2022 season on Friday, Sept. 2, when the Lehigh Mountain Hawks visit Villanova Stadium.
