Karlie Kisha to Rejoin the Wildcats as Volunteer Assistant Coach

VILLANOVA, Pa.- The former collegiate national champion, All-American, and current U.S. Women's National Team (USWNT) member, Karlie Kisha, is rejoining the Wildcats coaching staff this season as a volunteer assistant coach.

Kisha has had a very accomplished field hockey career both on the field as a player and on the sideline as a coach. Kisha spent her collegiate years playing for the University of Connecticut where she was part of two national champion teams, and she earned NFHCA Division I All-American honors. During her collegiate years she was a named to the U.S. U-19 National Team in 2014 and U-21 National Team in 2015.

Kisha was a member of the U.S. Women's National Development Team from 2017 to 2019 and played in the FIH Pro League in 2020-21 and 2021-22.  She played in the Pan American Cup in 2022 with Team USA coming in fourth.

During her first stint on head coach Joanie Milhous's staff, Kisha assisted with coaching many players to BIG EAST honors and awards. Kisha was a great support to the Villanova field hockey family for 3 seasons before exiting the coaching staff to join the USWNT in 2021.

Kisha was invited back to the USWNT in July of 2022 and will compete at the end October for the FIH Hockey Pro League season. Kisha will rejoin the Wildcats coaching staff this season as a volunteer.

Head coach Joanie Milhous is looking forward to having Kisha rejoin the coaching staff after time off to focus on her career with Team USA.

"Karlie was my assistant coach for three years and was incredible. She added great knowledge and experience to our program. She had to stop coaching due to moving to North Carolina to be with the US Women's National Team. She never completely left our program as we would consult with her," said Milhous. "But now I'm thrilled to say she's officially a Volunteer Assistant for us and we can't wait to work with her again and have her on our staff. We are fortunate to have such a great person and US Team Member back with us."
