Denise Dillon today announced the 2022-23 Wildcat schedule. Villanova will play a 31-game schedule, including 20 Big East Conference contests and four Philadelphia Big Five games.
The 2022-23 campaign begins with a road game on Nov. 7, when Villanova star
Maddy Siegrist returns to her hometown of Poughkeepsie, New York to take on the Marist Red Foxes. Villanova then plays at Princeton on Nov. 11 and at Penn on Nov. 17 to complete a three-game road stretch to begin the season. The home opener is set for Nov. 20 when Big 5 rival Temple visits the Finneran Pavilion.
Villanova will spend the Thanksgiving holiday in Estero, Fla., participating in the Gulf Coast Showcase. The Wildcats open the tournament against Belmont on Nov. 25 and will play either Baylor or St. Louis on Nov. 26. The final day of competition is set for Nov. 27.
The Wildcats return from Florida to open BIG EAST Conference play at home versus Creighton on Dec. 2, before playing at Providence on Dec. 4. Villanova will play consecutive home games versus American (Dec. 6) and Saint Joseph's (Dec. 10) before final exams.
Villanova will conclude the non conference portion of its schedule with two games prior to the Christmas holiday. On Dec. 18, the Wildcats will take on Iowa State as part of ninth annual Invesco QQQ Basketball Hall of Fame Women's Showcase at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The final non conference tilt of the regular season is set for Dec. 21 against La Salle.
Beginning with a home game versus Georgetown on Jan. 4, Villanova will play 16 consecutive BIG EAST games to finish the season.
The BIG EAST Conference previously announced an agreement with leading sports streaming service FloSports to continue to be the home of the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) presented by SoFi for the 2022-23 academic year. FloSports has served as the digital home of BIG EAST women's basketball since 2020-21 and expanded its BEDN lineup last fall to include more than 500 Olympic sports events, as well as BIG EAST original content such as "Shootaround" and "Fast Break," the Conference's weekly men's and women's basketball feature shows. FloSports offers both monthly and annual subscriptions, and as part of the expanded agreement, BIG EAST member institution student and faculty discounts will be made available.
