The Villanova Wildcats will welcome the number one ranked Connecticut Huskies to the Finneran Pavilion on Wednesday night. Villanova enters play with a 21-5 overall record and a 14-3 BIG EAST mark, while the Huskies are 27-0 on the year and 16-0 in league action. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.

Wednesday's game between Villanova and Connecticut will be the second meeting of the season between the two schools. In the first meeting on Jan. 15, the Huskies recorded a 99-50 win in a game played at Gampel Pavilion.
Kennedy Henry led the Wildcats in the loss with 12 points, while
Brynn McCurry added 11 points. Sarah Strong paced the Huskies with 24 points and nine rebounds, while Azzi Fudd had 14 points. For the game, Villanova was 18-of-65 from the field (27.7%), 8-of-32 from three-point range (25.0%) and 6-of-7 from the foul line (85.7%), while Connecticut shot 54.9 percent from the floor (39-of-71), 30.0 percent from downtown (6-of-20) and 71.4 percent from the charity stripe (15-of-21). The Huskies owned a 46-34 advantage on the backboards and forced 26 Villanova turnovers.
For her efforts in two games last week, sophomore guard
Jasmine Bascoe earned a spot on the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, in addition to being one of five players to garner USBWA National Player of the Week accolades. In two wins over Xavier and Creighton, Bascoe averaged 19.5 points per game.
By virtue of Sunday's win at Creighton, Villanova improved to 14-3 in the conference standings and clinched a Top 3 seed in the upcoming BIG EAST Tournament. The Wildcats currently have a two-game lead in the loss column over Seton Hall and a four-game lead over both St. John's and Marquette.
Henry has tallied 13 steals in the last two games. In a win at Xavier on Feb. 11, she tied a Villanova school record for steals in a game with nine. Former Wildcat standout Shelly Pennefather also had nine steals against Cheyney University on January 21, 1987. Henry was credited with four steals at Creighton on Sunday. For the year, Henry has 61 steals. The freshman class record for steals in a game is 63 by Nancy Bernhardt during the 1980-81 season.
Villanova enters play against Connecticut having won six in a row and 19 of the last 22 games. Villanova had won 10 in a row earlier in the year before losing at Marquette on Jan. 4.
