BIG EAST Offensive Player and Freshman of the Week

Palmer Ault, Butler, Fr., F (Noblesville, Ind.)

Leading Butler's high-octane attack last week, Ault and the Bulldogs went a perfect 2-0-0 and outscored the competition 13-1. Individually, Ault tallied a brace in both outings and added a pair of assists to cap the week with 10 points. In a midweek non-conference match against Lindenwood, Ault scored the opening two goals of the match and assisted on the next two giving Butler a commanding 4-0 advantage in an eventual 9-0 triumph. On Saturday, Ault scored the first and third goals of the contest in a 4-1 win over UConn. The native of Noblesville, Ind., now has 14 points on six goals and two assists in eight matches, sitting in a tie for first on the BIG EAST leaderboard with Creighton's Duncan McGuire for goals scored and points accumulated.

BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week

Viktor Benediktsson, Villanova, Sr., D (Hafnarfjörður, Iceland)

In the lone match of the week for Villanova, Benediktsson anchored the Wildcats defense in a 4-0 road win over St. John's Friday night. Benediktsson and the Wildcats limited St. John's to just seven shots and zero shots on goal in the outing. Off a corner in the 41^st minute, the senior defender made an impact on offense when he sent a shot inside the near post to give Villanova a 3-0 lead. 

BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week

Chandler Hallwood, Marquette, Sr., GK (Halifax, England)

In his lone match of the week in goal for Marquette, Hallwood acted as a brick wall to lead the Golden Eagles to a 0-0 draw on the road against No. 19 Xavier. In the outing, the senior corralled four saves in the shutout, the first time in 2022 Xavier has been held scoreless in a match.                                                

BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Daniel Wu, Georgetown, Sr., D

Wu opened the scoring for the Hoyas in a 2-1 win over Creighton off a header in the 38^th minute Saturday afternoon. Defensively, the senior played a key role in allowing zero goals in the run of play against eight shots on target.

Alex Mirsberger, Marquette, Sr., D

Mirsberger took over the match against Marquette's cross-town rival Milwaukee Tuesday night tallying three goals in the opening 33 minutes of a 5-2 victory. The senior became the first Marquette player to register a hat trick since 2011. Defensively, he anchored the Golden Eagles to a 1-0-1 week, and helped Marquette post a 0-0 draw against Xavier in its conference opener.

Quenzi Huerman, Seton Hall, Jr., M

Huerman scored a pair of goals in Saturday's 2-2 draw at Providence. The junior midfielder now has five goals on the season, tied for the third most in the BIG EAST, while his 12 points on the year are tied for fourth.

Lyam MacKinnon, Villanova, Sr., F

Mackinnon scored a goal and added an assist for three points in Villanova's 4-0 win at St. John's Friday evening.

Makel Rasheed, Xavier, Sr., D/M

Rasheed helped Xavier (6-0-3, 0-0-2 BIG EAST) remain unbeaten on the year with a 1-0-1 record this past week. Playing 180 combined minutes on the back line, he scored a pair of goals in a 3-1 win over Evansville on Tuesday, before helping Marquette post a shutout draw against Marquette on Saturday.
