Feick Named BIG EAST Female Athlete of the Week

The freshman diver swept the 1- and 3-meter dives against Richmond

NEW YORK – Freshman diver Claire Feick has been tabbed this week's BIG EAST Female Athlete of the Week, as announced by the league on Wednesday.

This is the first time a Villanova diver has been tabbed an Athlete of the Week since Michael Perra earned the honor in 2019. She is also the first women's diver for the program to earn the accolade since Bridie Dunn in 2018.

Feick opened the second half of the season with a strong showing in Villanova's win over Richmond on Jan. 13. The Culver, Ind. native swept both the 1- and 3-meter dives with scores of 264.68 and 252.60, respectively. That 3-meter score is now a BIG EAST season-best mark. She is the first BIG EAST diver this season to score above 50 on a single dive (50.40). Those wins brought her to five wins total on the year.

Villanova is back in the pool this Saturday when it visits Rutgers. That meet is set to begin at 1 p.m. at the Rutgers Aquatics Center in Piscataway, N.J.
