Wildcats Ink Three to Letters of Intent

Hodge, Moseley, and Thomas set to jjoin the 'Cats in the fall of 2024

VILLANOVA, Pa. – A trio of standouts have signed national letters of intent to join the Villanova Wildcats as incoming freshmen in the fall of 2024. The group includes forwards Matthew Hodge, Josiah Moseley, and Malcolm Thomas.

"Our staff is excited to bring this group of young men to Villanova," stated head coach Kyle Neptune. "Each one of them is a talented basketball player. More importantly, they are high-quality people from terrific families."

Hodge, 6-8, is a native of Belgium now living in Belmar, N.J., where his head coach at St. Rose High School is former Wildcats guard Brian Lynch (1996-2000). Hodge is the son of 6-11 Odell Hodge, who starred at Old Dominion University from 1992-97 before embarking upon a long professional career in Europe. Matthew Hodge averaged 14.5 points and 8.6 rebounds per outing as a junior at St. Rose.

"Matt is a skilled forward who can play inside or step out and make shots from the perimeter," stated Neptune. "He is a very advanced shooter, decision-maker, and passer. As the son of a big-time player, he brings a great feel for the game. We can't wait to begin working with Matt next summer as he transitions to the college game."

Josiah Moseley, 6-8, comes to Villanova from Round Rock, Tex where he plays for Stony Point High School. As a junior he averaged 21.5 points per game and connected on 40 percent of his 3-point attempts.

"One of the things that stood out to us about Josiah is his versatility as a forward," stated Neptune. "Defensively he can guard multiple positions and offensively he creates all sorts of matchup issues. Josiah is very athletic, can score off the dribble and just keeps getting better."

Malcolm Thomas, 6-8, is a product of DeMatha Catholic High School, the alma mater of current Wildcats' captain Justin Moore. As a junior, he averaged a team-best 11.6 points and 4.7 blocks per game. His father, Etan Thomas, was the No. 12 overall pick in the 2000 National Basketball Association draft (Dallas) after starring at Syracuse in the BIG EAST and went on to play nine seasons in the league.

"Malcolm is a high-energy athletic forward whose game really fits the way we like to play," Neptune stated. "Malcolm is the son of an accomplished professional athlete. He is already a high-level defender who can score from mid-range and is becoming a 3-point threat. There is so much upside to Malcolm's game."

247 Sports lists all three future Wildcats in its Top 160 in the Class of 2024, including Hodge (108), Thomas (135) and Moseley (151).
