Villanova Swimming and Diving Heads to West Virginia Invite

VILLANOVA, Pa. – For the fourth time in the last five seasons, the Villanova swimming and diving teams head westward to the West Virginia Invitational in Morgantown, W.Va. The three-day event is set to start on Nov. 16 at the Aquatic Center at Mylan Park.

At this meet last year, the 'Cats saw multiple program and personal records against the strong field with senior Audrey Pastorek leading the way. The Savannah, Ga. native moved up to number seven on Villanova's All-Time performers list winning the 400 IM clocking 4:18.73. Pastorek also cemented her position as third on Villanova's All-Time list in the 100 backstroke as she tapped the wall at 54.35.

Winnie Jalet also moved up in the record books after posting a 1:02.06 in the 100 breaststroke to become the fourth-fastest performer in program history.

On the men's side, senior Nolan Danus added to his top-10 achievements after a third-place finish in the 400 IM. Danus shaved nearly four seconds off his prelim time (3:59.50) to clock 3:55.90 in the finals and become the eight-fastest performer in program history. The Morris Plains, N.J. native owns three of Villanova's top-10 marks.

Villanova will be one of 10 teams and the only BIG EAST school in attendance. The 'Cats will take on a field of 10 women's teams while the men will take on a field of eight. The field consists of Delaware, Drexel, East Carolina (women's team), Navy, Northern Iowa (women's team), Old Dominion, Seton Hall, West Virginia, and William & Mary.

Each day of action will begin with preliminary rounds at 10 a.m. with finals closing each night at 6 p.m.
