VILLANOVA, Pa.—For the second time this week the Villanova football team has been recognized on a national level with the announcement of the FCS 2023 All-American Teams by
Phil Steele and the draftscout.com staff. Sixth year offensive lineman
Michael Corbi (Annapolis, Md.) and fifth year wide receiver
Rayjuon Pringle (Woodbridge, Va.) were each selected to the fourth team offense for their efforts this season. Both players were previously first team CAA Football All-Conference selections last month.
Corbi appeared in nine games this season as the Wildcats starting left guard. He was part of a Villanova offensive line that helped the team lead CAA Football and rank in the top 10 nationally in three different offensive categories. Entering the quarterfinal round of the FCS playoffs the Wildcats ranked third in the country in passing efficiency (163.04), eighth in total offense (442.1) and ninth in rushing offense (220.3). Villanova was also second in the CAA and 11
th nationally in scoring offense (33.6). Final statistical rankings will be released after the conclusion of postseason play.
In the final season of his collegiate career Corbi made history with his fourth career All-CAA honor, including his third time being a first team all-conference pick. He joined former Wildcats stars
Brian Westbrook and
Ben Ijalana as the only offensive players in program history to garner three career first team all-conference accolades. Corbi was previously a first team All-CAA honoree in 2020 and 2021 to along with being a second team selection last year. He wound up starting 34 of the 41 collegiate games he played in.
Pringle was an explosive playmaker for the Villanova offense and recorded the eighth-most receiving yards (985) in a single season in school history in this year. He led the team with 40 receptions and eight receiving touchdowns while averaging 24.6 yards per catch, the third-most in school history and second-highest figure in the country this season behind only sophomore teammate
Jaylan Sanchez. Pringle finished the season ranked second on the team with 1,053 all-purpose yards. He topped 100 receiving yards three times during the year, including a career-best 196-yard performance versus Stony Brook and a 180-yard game versus Towson.
With his collegiate career now complete, Pringle is the Wildcats all-time career record holder with an average of 19.4 yards per catch. In 39 career games played, Pringle had 131 catches for 2,537 yards and 23 touchdowns. He ranks seventh in school history in receiving touchdowns, eighth in receiving yards and is tied for 14
th in receptions. Pringle is also 10
th in the Villanova record book in receiving yards per game (51.8) and tied for fourth with 10 career 100+ yard receiving games. He is the only player in school history to have as many as four career receptions for 75+ yards, with three of those catches coming this season.

Isas Waxter recognized on the FCS Football Central All-American Team as a second team selection. In addition to its FCS All-American selections,
Phil Steele and draftscout.com revealed all-conference teams for each FCS conference. Villanova previously had 12 players earn CAA Football All-Conference accolades in a postseason vote of league head coaches.
Villanova finished the season with a 10-3 record and was 7-1 during the regular season CAA slate. The team's second conference championship in the past three years enabled the Wildcats to claim the #8 seed in the Division I Football Championship and earn a first round postseason bye.
