PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Redshirt senior forward Eric Dixon (Willow Grove, Pa./Abington High School) was named Tuesday as the Big Five Men's Player of the Week.

The 6-8 forward helped lead the Wildcats to a come from behind win at No. 12 Creighton in the BIG EAST Conference opener last Wednesday night in Omaha. Dixon connected on 12-of-21 field goal attempts, including 4-of-10 from beyond the 3-point arc, to finish with 32 points. His 3-pointer from the right wing with 28 seconds left in overtime proved to be the margin of victory in a 68-66 triumph over the Bluejays.

On Saturday, Dixon helped the Wildcats built an 18-point halftime lead on their way to an 84-48 win at DePaul. Dixon contributed 12 points to the win in Chicago.

Dixon leads Villanova in scoring (14.9 points per game) and rebounding (6.5 rebounds per outing). 

Villanova is idle until next week, when it hosts Xavier (Jan. 3) and St. John's (Jan. 6) at Finneran Pavilion.
