Tristan Bolinsky Finishes Fourth in Hammer, Fifth in Discus at Hurricane Alumni Invitational

CORAL GABLES, Fla.—Sophomore thrower Tristan Bolinsky (Gordon, Pa.) was the lone men's athlete in competition for Villanova at the Hurricane Alumni Invitational which got started at Cobb Stadium on Friday morning. A full event schedule at the two-day meet awaits the Wildcats on Saturday afternoon. Bolinsky tallied a fourth place finish in the hammer and a fifth place result in the discus in Friday's events.

The discus competition was the first men's field event to get underway on Friday morning and Bolinsky recorded a mark of 47.29 meters. The distance is a new season best for Bolinsky, who remains second on this year's BIG EAST performance list. His throw of 47.29 meters came on the first of his six attempts on Friday. He would later measure three other throws which ranged between 45.17 meters and 47.12 meters during the competition.

Later in the day was the hammer competition in which Bolinsky threw for 51.37 meters. The distance came on his only successful throw of the day on his third attempt. He was third out of 13 athletes in the field at that point before being passed during the final three throws and ending up in fourth place.

Villanova also had a contingent of athletes competing at the Duke Invitational on Friday night. The continuation of the Hurricane Alumni Invitational on Saturday is all that remains of the Wildcats weekend schedule.
