VILLANOVA, Pa. – Tyler Burton, a 6-7 forward who spent the first four seasons of his college career at the University of Richmond, has completed the process to transfer to Villanova for the 2023-24 academic year, it was announced today.
Burton is a native of Uxbridge, Mass., who earned second team All-Atlantic 10 honors in 2022-23 while averaging 19.0 points and 7.4 rebounds per outing. He ranks 11th on Richmond's career scoring list (1,634 points) and is sixth on the program's all-time rebounding list (819 rebounds).
"At Villanova we always prioritize developing complete basketball players," stated Villanova head coach Kyle Neptune. "Tyler has already proven to be a complete player at the college level and our staff is fired up to work with him to build on what he's already put into place. Tyler is a versatile scorer and excellent rebounder who will fit seamlessly in our lineup."
Burton is one of five newcomers set to join a Wildcats' roster that also welcomes back headliners Justin Moore, forward Eric Dixon (second team All-BIG EAST), and guard Mark Armstrong (BIG EAST All-Freshmen). In addition to Burton, Villanova has added transfers TJ Bamba (Washington State), Hakim Hart (Maryland) and Lance Ware (Kentucky) along with incoming freshman Jordann Dumont, who signed a national letter of intent last November.
