VILLANOVA, Pa. – An eight-game home regular season slate that includes four consecutive September matches at the Higgins Soccer Complex, highlights the 2023 Men's Soccer schedule announced this week.
The Wildcats, led by head coach Tom carlin, open the 2023 regular season at Albany on Sunday, Aug. 27 at 6 p.m. These two sides last met on Sept. 3, 2021 at Villanova with the Great Danes picking up a 1-0 win on the strength of a penalty kick goal in the 73
rd minute. Villanova then visits NJIT on Thursday, Aug. 31 at 7 p.m. Two

Villanova kicks off its home slate on Labor Day, Monday, Sept. 4 at 3 p.m. when it hosts Michigan State for the first time in program history. FDU follows the Spartans to the Higgins Soccer Complex for a 1 p.m. kickoff on Saturday, Sept. 9. VU then opens the BIG EAST season at home against Butler (4 p.m.) on Friday, Sept. 15 before closing out the stretch of home games with a non-conference battle with Western Michigan on Tuesday, Sept. 19.
The Wildcats play their first BIG EAST road match at Providence on Saturday, Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.
The October slate is highlighted by a trio of Saturday BIG EAST home matches vs. Seton Hall (Oct. 7), St. John's (Oct. 14) and Xavier (Oct. 21). The home portion of the schedule concludes on Tuesday, Oct. 24 with a non-conference game vs. Army.
Villanova wraps up its 2023 regular season in Chicago with a BIG EAST clash with DePaul (Oct. 28) and a non-league match at UIC (Oct. 30).
The Wildcats finished 2022 with a 6-8-3 overall mark.
