Following its first BIG EAST loss of the season, Villanova looks to get back on track Thursday as it hosts DePaul for its Pink Out game set to start at 4 p.m. at Higgins Soccer Complex.

Thursday's contest can be viewed on FloSports via the BIG EAST Digital Network along with NBC Sportsnet +.

Villanova (4-5-2, 1-1-1) closed out the month of September with a 3-0 loss to No. 21 Xavier, its second ranked opponent of the season. In conference action, the team has been outscored 3-2 with its two goals coming in the win at Creighton on Sept. 26. Through the first 11 games, Villanova is averaging .82 goals per game. On the defensive side, the Wildcats still sit as one of the best in the conference, holding a .455 shutout percentage that is good enough for third in the BIG EAST and the second-best save percentage at .833. Goalkeeper Hannah Dickinson leads the charge with a BIG EAST high 54 saves on the year, placing her at 44th in the nation.

Through the first week of BIG EAST action, Villanova is tied for fourth in the conference standings alongside Butler with four points. DePaul (2-5-3, 0-1-1) has one point in league action, landing it at 10th in the standings. Their lone point came from a 0-0 tie with Butler last Thursday.

Fourth-year head coach Michelle O’Brien’s squad has not scored a goal in 184:13 of action. The last goal for the Blue Demons came in a 1-1 draw with Western Michigan on Sept. 15 off the foot of junior forward Freya Jupp in the 86th minute.

Jupp leads the Blue Demons with six points on the three goals this season. She has landed seven of her nine shots on frame and is the only Blue Demon to score multiple goals this season.

Graduate goalkeeper Elena Milam has started in all 10 games for the Blue Demons this season, playing in 889 minutes. She has allowed 14 goals, saving 34 of the 99 shots she has faced for a .708 save percentage. All four of the team’s shutouts have been credited to her, tying her for third in the BIG EAST and 59th nationally.

Thursday is the 22nd battle between the ‘Cats and Blue Demons with the overall series sitting even at 10-10-1. Villanova has gone 3-2 in the last five meetings and is 7-2-1 when hosting DePaul. The ’Cats have won each of the last three matches played on the Main Line.
