Dante Allen Signs With Villanova

Class of 2025 guard is the son of Villanova alums Kara and Malik Allen

VILLANOVA, Pa. –  Dynamic guard Dante Allen (Miami, Fla./Montverde Academy) has signed a financial aid agreement to attend Villanova University in the fall of 2025, it was announced today.

The 6-4 Allen rose to prominence at Riviera Prep in Miami the last two seasons before transferring to Montverde Academy (the alma mater of former Wildcats guard James Bell) for 2024-25. Last season he averaged 21.0 points, seven rebounds and three assists per game at Riviera Prep. He also helped his AAU team, Nightrydas Elite, capture three straight titles at the Nike Peach Jam Festival.

Dante Allen's father Malik Allen, currently an assistant coach with the Miami Heat, played four seasons for the Wildcats (1996-2000), scoring 1,131 points and collecting 708 rebounds. He was named third team All-BIG EAST as a senior in 1999-2000 and was a 2021 inductee into the Villanova Varsity Club Hall of Fame.

"We are so excited to formally welcome Dante to the Villanova family," stated Villanova head coach Kyle Neptune. "Dante is a tough, intelligent guard who drives winning. He is extremely versatile in getting to the rim, shooting and making plays for others. And of course, he brings a great pedigree as the son of two Villanova alums, one of whom is a Hall of Famer for what he accomplished in his playing career here."

The current edition of the Wildcats (2-2 overall) looks to rebound Friday after suffering an 83-76 loss to Saint Joseph's Tuesday. The Wildcats take on Virginia at 5 p.m. (TNT and the Villanova IHeart Radio Network) as part of the Baltimore Hall of Fame Series.

Brian Anderson and Grant Hill will call the game on TNT while Jared Greenberg is the sideline reporter. Ryan Fannon and Whitey Rigsby will be on site at CFG Bank Arena for the Nova Nation radio call.

Virginia leads the all-time series 5-3. Villanova captured the last meeting on Jan. 29, 2017 when Donte DiVincenzo tapped in a rebound just before the horn sounded to secure a 61-59 victory for the Wildcats at the Wells Fargo Center.
