Dixon is Philadelphia Big Five Player of the Week

Also Named to BIG EAST Honor Roll

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Forward Eric Dixon's explosive offensive week was recognized twice on Monday.

The Philadelphia Big Five tabbed the Willow Grove, Pa., as its Men's Player of the Week. The BIG EAST selected the 6-8 forward to its weekly Honor Roll.

On Sunday, Dixon scored 38 of Villanova's 75 points in a 76-75 loss that wasn't decided until the final buzzer. The 38 points established a new career high for the graduate of Abington High School, eclipsing the 34 points he poured in last Thanksgiving in a victory over North Carolina at the Battle 4 Atlantis in the Bahamas. He connected on 15-of-29 field goal attempts.

Earlier in the week, Dixon helped lead the Wildcats past Penn 93-49 with 23 points and six rebounds.

For the week, Dixon averaged 30.5 points per game. His season scoring average is currently at 26.7 points per game, which ranks third among all NCAA Division I Men's Basketball players.

Villanova returns to action Wednesday night when it hosts Rider at 7 p.m.
