VILLANOVA, Pa. – Men's Golf will welcome one newcomer to their Class of 2029 this upcoming season as Luke Leonard signed with the Wildcats this fall.
Leonard is a four-year varsity golfer from Jupiter, Fla. who maintained a stroke average of 74.2 in his senior season. He is a two-time district and regional champion.
As a junior, Leonard was the Florida 1A Individual State Champion and was the runner-up this past season. He also acquired two letters in lacrosse as a freshman and sophomore at The Benjamin School.
He is a member of the National Honor Society and has received AP Scholar with Distinction honors in his final two years of high school.
Leonard is the son of Justin and Amanda and has three siblings, Reese, Avery, and Sky. Justin was a golfer at the University of Texas and has been on the PGA Tour since 1994.
He plans on studying business while enrolled at Villanova. Leonard chose VU because he "
loved the team environment and because of the academic prestige as well as the business school."
Fans will be able to view Leonard in action before he suits up as a Wildcat when he participates in the PNC Championship this weekend alongside his father, Justin. The tournament will air on the Golf Channel on both Saturday and Sunday.
