Villanova Is Downed 6-1 To Georgetown

WASHINGTON, DC – Villanova fell 6-1 in Washington, DC to Georgetown in Game two.
 
 
Georgetown got the game started with three runs in the first and never looked back. The hoyas scored six runs before Villanova got on the board in the eighth inning.  The lead was too much for the Wildcats to comeback from as they would fall 6-1.
 
Nova Notes
  • Jake Francis pitched in relief for three innings allowing no hits and no runs while also striking out one.
 
How It Happened
  • Jake Hyde scored on a fielder's choice in the bottom of the first inning, 1-0 Hoyas.
  • D Smith doubled to right center, Carapellotti and Hollerbach scored, 3-0 in the first Gerogetown.
  • Marco Castillo singled up the middle scoring Caster, 4-0 Georgetown in the fourth.
  • In the bottom of the fourth, Marco Castillo scored on a SAC fly by Jake Hyde, 5-0 Georgetown.
  • In the six Castillo singled, scoring Caster, 6-0.
  • Cam Hassert scored on an Aidan Barry ground out in the eighth, 6-1.
