PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. – Villanova takes the home series against Creighton after a 6-5 victory in game three on Sunday.
The rubber match between the two BIG EAST foes started differently than the game prior. After seeing nine runs on the board in the first two innings Saturday, the first hit for either team did not occur until the bottom of the third by Villanova. The game remained scoreless through the seventh inning stretch.
In the bottom of the seventh, Villanova had two on with no outs. An RBI single to left field got the Wildcats on the board and opened the flood gates. The team added four more in the inning to take a 5-0 lead heading into the final two innings.
Creighton responded with one run in the eighth. Going into the top of the ninth the Wildcats led 5-1. After already giving up one run in the inning, in a with one out and bases loaded situation, Villanova squandered a three-run RBI single to tie the game at 5-5.
The game went to the bottom of the ninth tied 5-5. Villanova was able to get a runner on first and second with two outs and
Jason Neff at the plate. The four-hole hitter delivered with a liner bouncing to the right field wall and walking off the game for the Wildcats, 6-5.

- Starting pitcher Devin Rivera pitched 6.2 innings allowing only three hits and no runs while also striking out six batters.
- Jason Neff recorded a walk off hit for Villanova. Neff went 1-4 with a hit by pitch and one RBI.

- Shane Solari broke the scoreless tie in today's game. Solari went 2-4 and an RBI on the day.

- In the eighth, Deters singled up the middle scoring Zukowski, 5-1.
- Zukowski doubled to center field scoring Helligso, 5-2.
- Sailors doubled down the left field line to score three runs, 5-5.
- Jason Neff singled to right field in the ninth, scoring Connor Hale, 6-5 Villanova.
