VILLANOVA, Pa., - Villanova today announced the addition of Tyler Perkins, who thrived at Penn as a freshman last season, to its 2024-25 Men's Basketball roster.
"We're thrilled to welcome a dynamic guard of Tyler's caliber to our Villanova Basketball Family," stated head coach
Kyle Neptune.
Perkins comes to Villanova after an outstanding freshman campaign at Penn that included a 22-point effort in the Quakers' 76-72 victory over the Wildcats last November at the Palestra. A native of Lorton, Va., Perkins scored more than 1,000 career points in just 50 games at the London School. The 6-4 guard was the MVP of the 2023 Capital Classic and played AAU basketball with Team Takeover.
He started 27 of 29 games played by the Quakers in 2023-24, averaging 13.7 points and 5.3 rebounds per contest.
Perkins retains three seasons of eligibility.
"Tyler made a seamless transition to college basketball last season and we're looking forward to him doing the same at Villanova," stated Neptune. "Tyler fits the mold of a classic Villanova guard, a player who can score, rebound, and defend at a high level. He is dedicated to becoming the best man and player he can be and our staff can't wait to work with him."
