NEW YORK – For the second week in a row, Villanova found itself being honored with weekly awards from the BIG EAST.
Hannah Dickinson was tabbed Goalkeeper of the Week while
Ire Omotayo landed a spot on the Weekly Honor Roll.
The 'Cats are now up to five weekly honors on the season, adding to the three that were notched a week ago.
Two major honorees have been clad in Blue and White in back-to-back weeks with Dickinson earning the goalkeeper plaudit. The junior from Seattle, Wash. picked up a second clean sheet win in a row with the victory over Penn, logging her first solo shutout as a Wildcat. She was called upon for one save in the defensive shutdown of the Quakers. The keeper is now 2-1 on the season.
This is the first weekly plaudit for Dickinson as she becomes the first Villanova keeper to earn the accolade since Megan McClay on Sept. 26 2022.
Omotayo landed the second weekly accolade of her career with her placement on the Honor Roll. The sophomore defender from Calgary, Canada was a part of a defensive unit that shutdown Penn, 1-0, playing all 90 minutes. The Wildcats defense allowed just one shot on frame in the win for back-to-back clean sheet victories.
The Wildcats are back in action this week with a pair of road games at Jacksonville on Thursday and Florida State on Sunday.
