After picking up a point to open BIG EAST play on Sunday with a draw at Seton Hall, Villanova turns its attention to a two-match week for the first time in two weeks as it travels to Creighton Thursday and comes back Sunday to host No. 21 Xavier for Alumni Day.

Villanova (3-4-2, 0-0-1) is in search of its first win in the month of September, going 0-3-2 since finishing August with three consecutive victories. The Wildcats have worked a pair of draws in each of their last two outings, snapping a three-match losing skid. Since falling 3-0 in the season-opener with James Madison, Villanova has not allowed more than two goals in a single match. The only team to net a pair over the 'Cats since then was No. 1 Florida State on Sept. 1.

The Wildcats wrap up their three-match road swing Thursday with a trip to Omaha, Nebraska to face Creighton (3-3-1, 0-1). The Bluejays come in looking for a bounce-back result after a 1-0 loss at Georgetown Sunday. Since last season, they have not seen a conference win since Oct. 12 with a 2-0 victory over Seton Hall. Since then, they are 0-3-1 against the league.

Creighton is 2-0-1 at home this season, not allowing a goal on the home pitch since Oct. 22, 2023. Senior midfielder Azumi Manriki leads the team with three goals this season, landing six of her 12 shot attempts on frame. In goal, Alyssa Zalac has played in all 630 minutes with three shutouts, placing her third in the BIG EAST.

Sunday will be the second time this season that Villanova is facing a nationally-ranked side as No. 21 Xavier (8-1-1, 1-0) comes to town. The Musketeers have been ranked as high as No. 15 in the nation this season with their lone loss being a 3-2 result against then-No. 23 Saint Louis.

Xavier has been clinical on both sides of the pitch this season, outscoring its opponents 30-9 through the first 10 games while averaging 18.9 shots per game.  Emma Flick and Olivia Lawson lead the Musketeers with five goals each this season. Flick has tallied a BIG EAST-high 16 points and six assists, a mark that lands her 10th in the nation. Preseason All-BIG EAST selection Maria Galley has been the primary netminder for Xavier this season, starting in all 10 contests with 847 minutes between the pipes. She has recorded four solo shutouts while saving 21 of the 56 shots that have come her way.
