PHILADELPHIA, Pa – Villanova swimming and diving head coach Rick Simpson received the Special Achievement Award from the Philadelphia Sports Writers Association.
 
This award was presented to Simpson for his 25 years of coaching the Men's & Women's team and for leading the women's team to win 11 consecutive BIG EAST Championships. In addition, Rick and his coaching staff have won Coaching Staff of The Year for all 11 years.
 
This award show the consistent dedication this coaching staff have for their athletes. Simpson has helped guide the swimming and diving team to be one of the top BIG EAST programs and a powerhouse for swimming and diving.
