VILLANOVA, Pa. – Sophomore Alex Yagudayev (Brooklyn, N.Y.) has been selected as the BIG EAST Goalkeeper of the Week after helping the Wildcats to a 1-0 win over NJIT (Oct.7) and a 1-1 draw with Seton Hall (Oct. 11).
 
Against the Highlanders, Yagudayev helped the Wildcats overcome a 23-9 disadvantage in shots to post a 1-0 win at the Higgins Soccer Complex. The sophomore made a season-high seven saves on the day, including several key stops to help Nova preserve its lead.
 
On Saturday, Yagudayev shook off a second half collision in the 78^th minute that brought the training staff on to the pitch. He was instrumental in helping to keep the dangerous Seton Hall side from breaking the deadlock in this East Division battle.
 
Villanova is idle before it returns to BIG EAST play against Midwest Division leader Creighton (7-3-2 overall, 3-1 BIG EAST) Friday at the Higgins Soccer Complex.
