PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -
Zach Miles (Hanover, N.H.) was named Tuesday as the Philly Soccer Six's Rookie of the Week.
On Saturday Miles re-directed a feed from
Javon Daniels into the goal in the 41st minute of a key BIG EAST match against Seton Hall. It was the first collegiate goal for Miles, who has been a stalwart on defense and in the midfield for Nova. He has started each of the Wildcats 12 games thus far (4-4-4 overall, 1-1-2 BIG EAST).
"Zach had been close a couple of times recently," said Villanova head coach
Mark Fetrow. "It was nice to see him get his first college goal and it was obviously an important one against a Seton Hall team that doesn't give up many chances."
The full list of this week's award winners includes:
Player of the Week: Zeke Zambrano - La Salle
Defensive Player of the Week: Kobe Perlaza - Saint Joseph's
