Postseason implications are high for Villanova with just three games left in the regular season. The Wildcats who sit at fourth in the BIG EAST standings head to No. 12 Georgetown Wednesday before coming back to the Main Line Saturday for a Pink Out game against Providence.

Villanova (9-6, 4-3 BIG EAST) controls its own destiny as it looks to make it into the BIG EAST Tournament for the first time since 2019. The top four teams earn a berth to the conference tourney with Villanova currently in that last spot at 12 points. The 'Cats need to win two of their final three games to lock in that position with Marquette and Butler trailing at nine and eight points, respectively.

The first contest of the week brings the third nationally-ranked side the Wildcats have faced this season in No. 13 Georgetown (12-2-2, 8-0 BIG EAST). The top team on the conference table, Georgetown is on an eight-game winning streak with the last six each being shutout wins. The Hoyas are outscoring BIG EAST Teams 27-2 with Creighton and Seton Hall each getting a goal past the Georgetown backline. They own the second-best scoring offense (2.38) and second-most shots per game (17.56) in the league, placing them at 19th and 14th nationally. The 'Cats have fallen in 11 consecutive meetings with the Hoyas, trailing the all-time series12-17-3. A win would mark the first since Oct. 19, 2012 and the first in Washington D.C. since Sept. 21, 2007.

Providence (4-6-3, 1-4-2 BIG EAST) heads into the week looking to bounce back from back-to-back losses to Georgetown and Xavier. The Friars are eighth in the conference standings with five points. Before they come to Villanova, they host Marquette for one final home contest on the year. Head coach Sam Lopes' team is 1-3-1 on the road this season. Their defense has made 3.46 saves per game this season, a tally good enough for fourth in the conference. Saturday is the 36th all-time meeting between Villanova and Providence with the Wildcats trailing 13-18-4. The 'Cats have not seen a home win against the Friars since Sept. 21, 2012.

Both games can be streamed on ESPN+.
