Softball Signs Seven Players to 2030 Class on National Signing Day

New 'Cats come from five different states.

VILLANOVA, Pa. — The Villanova softball team signed seven players to its 2030 class this week.

VU signed a versatile class, with four of seven signings playing multiple positions in high school. The 'Cats also added two pitchers to the rosters, both right-handed.

The 2030 class holds three players from New Jersey, one from Pennsylvania, one from Massachusetts, one from California and one from Nevada, providing a nationwide identity for Villanova.  

Right-handed pitcher and utility player Felicia Connolly was signed from Landsdale, Pa., where she is a standout at North Penn High School. Connolly was named to the First Team All-Conference team and 2nd Team All-State in 2025. 

Infielder and outfielder Samantha Lefever joins the 'Cats from Las Vegas, Nev., where she plays for athletic powerhouse Bishop Gorman High School. Lefever is a three-time Nevada state champion and was named First Team All Southern Nevada three times. 

Lefever's father, Mark, is a 1986 graduate of Villanova. 

Continuing from the western recruiting front, infielder Avery Bowers signed from South Hills High School in La Verne, Calif. Along with being a standout in travel ball and South Hills, Bowers played for Team Spain TCS and was selected to the All World Team in 2024. 

Infielder and outfielder Camryn Cloonan joined the 'Cats from Dighton, Mass., where she is a standout at Dighton-Rehoboth Regional High School. Cloonan has been a slugger, leading the state of Massachusetts in home runs in 2024, being named to the All-League team three times and winning Boston Globe Athlete of the Year in 2024. 

Catcher and infielder Jay Echeverry is one of three players added from New Jersey, where she played at St. Mary High School in East Rutherford. A multi-sport athlete, Echeverry is a standout on the court in basketball as well as softball, being named to All-Conference and All-County teams in both sports. 

First baseman Jillian Cianfrocca joins the team from Chester, N.J., where she was NJ.com Softball Player of the Year in 2024 for Mount Saint Dominican Academy. Cianfrocca was also named Essex County Player of the Year in 2024 and 2025, as well as making First Team All-State in 2025. 

Right-handed pitcher Riley Bobrowski from Watchung Hills High School in New Jersey rounds out the 2030 signing class. Bobrowski was named Courier News Softball Player of the Year in 2024 and has been named to the First Team All-Conference team the last two seasons.
