Volleyball Signs Trio of Players On National Signing Day

Michelle Eburuoh, Chloe Kelly and Selah O'Connor pledged to the Wildcats this week

VILLANOVA, Pa. – A trio of players pledged to the Villanova volleyball program on this year's National Signing Day, head coach Josh Steinbach announced on Thursday.

Middle blocker Michelle Eburuoh, outside hitter Chloe Kelly and setter Selah O'Connor will join the Wildcat roster starting in 2026, set to compete for rotation spots on one of the BIG EAST's top rosters.

"This class is an exciting one, they will be great fits for our team," Steinbach said. "They fit really well into the immediate needs and long term success of the program."

Cardinal O'Hara High School: Played four years of varsity volleyball as a three-year starter with two league championships … Two-time Catholic League MVP … Earned first team all-state, all-district and Delaware County Player of the Year in 2024 … Broke record for all-time solo blocks with 146 … Recorded 18 kills and eight blocks in PCL championship match as a senior captain … Also competed for two years in both basketball (2024 state champion) and track … Ranks in the top 10 of her class academically … President of the NHS in 2025-26 … First honors recipient in all three years.

Personal: Born 11/29/07 … Parents are Rita and Lawrence … Father played soccer at Cheyney from 1983-85 … Has four siblings: Alvin, Schola, Jennifer and Justin … Brother Alvin played football at Delaware … Plans to major in cognitive and behavioral neuroscience … Chose Villanova "because its strong academics, vibrant faith and community and focus on developing the whole person align perfectly with my goals as a student-athlete."

Steinbach on Eburuoh: "Michelle is an exciting middle with the tools to be an elite level blocker and attacker. She's late to start in volleyball and is developing quickly. She's way above the net and has natural blocking skills that will make her a really difficult matchup for BIG EAST attackers. Her attacking skills are getting better every time I see her and we're excited to get her in our gym this fall."

Westlake High School: Played four years of varsity as an outside … Chosen as PrepVolleyball Top 150 List member … Attended Under Armour camps in 2024 and 2025 … Invited to the Red Hat Games in three different years … Member of the AVCA Phenom List … 2022 and 2023 All-Tournament Team … Put up more than 1,000 career kills and 100 career blocks … Selected to Academic All-District team in all four years.

Personal: Born 2/3/08 … Parents are Stephanie and Lance … Has one sibling, Clayton … Plans to major in business … Chose to attend Villanova because of "the prestigious academic and athletic programs, with an amazing network and a beautiful town. The community is very interconnected and supportive, not only students but specifically student-athletes as well."

Steinbach on Kelly: "Chloe has a complete game that can impact us in a number of positive ways. She has a great arm and will be able to score in the BIG EAST right away. She is a long and capable blocker and has serve receive feel. She will compete immediately with our returning outsides."

Xavier College Preparatory: Played three years of varsity indoor and one of beach volleyball … Named a team captain as a senior … Two-time All-Region selection … Won the 6A state championship and Teammate of the Year award in 2024 … Posted over 1,000 assists in her career … Has played at Revolution Volleyball Academy for five years … Used to be a competitive dancer, including ballet and hip hop … Earned first honors academically four different times … Member of the Xavier honors program with a 4.06 GPA … Selected as Sports360AZ All-Academic.

Personal: Born 4/3/08 … Parents are Kelly and Brian … Mother was a two-time All-American hitter at USC, played on the national team and professionally in multiple countries … Father played basketball at UC Davis before a semi-pro career … Has one sibling, Emery … Chose Villanova because it "felt right and special from the start. The academic challenge, connection with the team and coaches, and the school's Catholic foundation align with who I am and who I want to become" … Noted her excitement to experience life on the East Coast.

Steinbach on O'Connor: "Selah is a polished, ready-to-go setter. She is a steady locator that can make hard plays look easy. She's played at a high level in both club and high school and comes from a volleyball background with her mom having been a pretty good player at USC. Selah is an outstanding competitor and will make us better on arrival."
