GREENWOOD, Ind. – More honors came rolling in for Villanova volleyball on Tuesday afternoon as a trio of Wildcats were selected to the 2025-26 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team. Taylor Lewis and Alyssa Nelson each earned their first career mentions on the list while Abby Harrell received a repeat selection.

Only seven other 'Cats have ever been named to the list before, including a program-best four choices last year after Ruth Ann Blankenheim's nod in 2000 was the most recent before that. To be eligible for the award, student-athletes must hold at least a 3.50 cumulative grade point average and have competed in at least 90% of the team's total matches played.

Harrell is VU's lone multi-time representative and is the only Villanova volleyballer moving on to the Academic All-America ballot. The junior outside hitter was named First Team All-Region and unanimous All-BIG EAST for her on-court play this year in addition to earning PhillySIDA Performer of the Year in part due to her 3.78 grade point average as an accounting major.

Lewis received the honor after a strong sophomore season, ranking third on the team in kills with seven double-digit kill performances. The Indianapolis native carries a 3.94 GPA as a business major with a minor in lab sciences and has been an Athletic Director's Honor Roll and BIG EAST All-Academic Team member each time eligible.

Nelson rounded out the Villanova laurels following a year in which she paced the squad in assists with 10 double-doubles on her ledger, reaching 1,000 collegiate helpers just halfway through her Wildcat career. The sophomore holds a 3.57 in exploratory arts with this accolade adding to the multiple academic honors in her career already.
