Villanova returns home on Monday afternoon to take on the St. John's Red Storm in a BIG EAST battle. The Wildcats enter play riding a seven-game winning streak with a 9-2 overall record and a 2-0 conference mark, while the Red Storm is 11-2 on the year and 1-1 in league play. Tip-off is set for noon at the Finneran Pavilion.
Monday's game between Villanova and the St. John's will be the 80th all-time meeting between the schools. Villanova leads the all-time series by a 50-29 count. Villanova has won 11 of the last 12 against the Red Storm and are 18-5 in its last 23 games versus St. John's.
Of all the opponents Villanova has faced over the years, the Wildcats have played St. John's the second most of any team at 79 times (Villanova leads 50-29). Providence is the team that the Wildcats have played the most at 85 times.Â
Due to end of the semester final exams and the Christmas holiday, Villanova is in a stretch of playing just two games in a 22-day span. After defeating Saint Joseph's on Dec. 7, the Wildcats didn't play until the Seton Hall win on Friday, Dec. 19. The Wildcats will host St. John's on Dec. 22, before having off until a road game at DePaul on Dec. 29.

Ryanne Allen is coming off an impressive performance in Friday's 72-55 win over Seton Hall. In 21 minutes of action, Allen tied her career-high with 19 points on 7-of-11 shooting, including a 5-of-7 effort from three-point range. The five triples also tie a career-best effort. Allen is currently averaging 8.1 points per game, and she is shooting .463 from behind the arc (19-of-41). The 19 threes rank second on the team.
After 11 games this year, sophomore guard
Jasmine Bascoe is averaging a team-high 18.2 points per game. Bascoe has scored double figures in 39 of 44 career games.
