PHILADELPHIA, Pa.—A contingent of Villanova throwers opened the indoor track & field season with competition in the shot put and the weight throw at the Penn Opener on Saturday afternoon. The top result of the day came from sophomore Joe D'Adamo (Nanuet, N.Y.) who recorded a PR of 14.47 meters and finished in fifth place.
 
Senior Liam Anderson (Lebanon, N.J.) led three Wildcats in the shot put with an indoor PR of 14.23 meters. He was followed by sophomore Chris Coulter (Philadelphia, Pa.) and junior Jonathan Evans (Springfield, Va.) who recorded distances of 13.02 meters and 12.57 meters, respectively.
