NEW YORK -- Fresh off a 4-0 week at the Villanova Softball Complex, a pair of Wildcat softball players picked up the conference's weekly honors as Kat Gallant earned BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week and Maranda Runco received weekly honor roll mention.

Gallant picked up the league's top pitcher plaudit for the second time in her career after leading the conference in earned run average with a 1.08 ERA in a pair of appearances. The junior held Creighton to a .234 average with seven strikeouts in 13 frames, earning a pair of wins in BIG EAST play.

The right-hander tossed an eight-inning complete game on Friday, striking out four while allowing just two earned runs. In Saturday's ten-frame victory, Gallant threw five stanzas of scoreless relief with three Ks to deliver her second win in as many days.

Runco received a weekly honor roll laurel for the second straight week after another blistering effort at the plate, hitting .400 with two homers, four runs and six RBI while amassing 13 total bases and an .867 slugging percentage. Against Monmouth on Wednesday, she earned her first career pitching win with three innings pitched and two strikeouts.

At the plate during the weekend, the sophomore totaled all three RBI on Friday with a two-run homer and walkoff single before a three-run dinger by #25 proved to be the difference in Sunday's victory.

Gallant, Runco and the Wildcats play in four road games this week, heading to Hawk Hill for a Wednesday matchup at Saint Joseph's before a weekend series in the nation's capital at Georgetown.
