VILLANOVA, Pa. – Villanova Women's Soccer unveiled its 18-game slate for the 2025 season on Tuesday. The Wildcats are slated to play an even nine matches inside the friendly confines of Higgins Soccer Complex with nine matches taking them on the road to seven locations outside the Keystone State.
Heading into her fourth season with the program, head coach
Samar Azem and the 'Cats are coming off a 2024 season that saw the team have its best winning percentage in five seasons, going 5-7-6 on the year.
The season gets started on August 14 as the 'Cats welcome Michigan to the Main Line for the first-ever meeting between the two sides. A week later, the first road trip of the year takes the team to the Tar Heel State to face 2024 National Finalist Wake Forest on August 21. It will be the second consecutive year the teams have met and just the fifth meeting since 1996. Another rare meeting comes on August 24 as Columbia comes to town. The 'Cats and Lions have met just two previous times in 1998 and 1999 with Villanova holding a 1-0-1 advantage thanks to a 3-2 win at Columbia on Sept. 22, 1999.
August wraps up with a visit from George Mason (August 28) and a trip to Bucknell (August 31) before the 'Cats host Lehigh on September 7. The nonconference slate comes to a close with back-to-back road trips to Princeton and Penn on September 11 and 14.
A Senior Day match with Seton Hall will start BIG EAST play for head coach
Samar Azem's team on September 20 followed closely by another home contest with Creighton on Sept. 24. The next three contests will send the 'Cats to Xavier, DePaul and St. John's before coming home on October 15 to host Marquette. The last two road conference tilts will see the 'Cats go to UConn to take on the reigning BIG EAST tournament champions on October 18 and then to Georgetown on October 25.
Villanova rounds out the regular season with a pair of home games, welcoming Providence on October 25 and Butler on November 1.
