Six Wildcats Named CSCAA Scholar All-Americans

This marks the second consecutive year that Villanova had six student-athletes recognized

RICHMOND, Va. – Villanova Swimming and Diving was well represented on the 2024-25 Scholar All-American Teams from the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) with six Wildcats earning second team honors. Nicholas Jubilee was the lone Wildcat on the men's side while Peri Gaguzis, Anna Farley, Alexa Fegley, Arabella Lee and Katie White were recipients on the women's side.
 
This is the second consecutive season that six 'Cats earned distinctions, once again matching the most honorees for the program in modern history along with the 2018 squad. Jubilee, Lee and White have all make their way back onto the ledger to become repeat Second Team All-Americans. These six were among over 2,700 swimmers and divers named to the team this season. To qualify for First-Team Scholar All-America, student-athletes must have earned a GPA of 3.5 or higher and participated in their national championship. Second-Team selections, must have also earned a 3.5 GPA or higher and met a "B" time standard for the national championship or qualified for a diving zone qualification meet.
 
Nearly half of all recognized student-athletes—48 percent—majored in a STEM-related field. Business Administration was the most popular individual major, selected by 5.6 percent of student-athletes.
 
Jubilee, a nursing major, capped his Villanova career this season in strong fashion, resetting the program record in the 3 meter with a score of 370.85 at the BIG EAST Championship to win his second gold medal at the conference meet and his fourth All-BIG EAST performance of his career. This is his second Academic All-American nod of the season, being recognized by the College Sports Communicators as a third-team selection this season. He was also tabbed a CSC Academic All-District and Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area selection.
 
Gaguzis, a native of Pittsburgh, Pa., picks up her first Academic All-American nod after a sophomore campaign that saw her earn All-BIG EAST in the 500 Free and 400 IM. The nursing major was a bronze a silver medalist, respectively, at the conference meet for the first medals of her career. Her 4:16.28 in the 400 IM made her the fourth-fastest performer in program history.
 
Farley brings in her third academic honor of the season with this plaudit, adding to her CSC Academic All-District and Philly-SIDA Academic All-Area team nods. The nursing major led Villanova with a team-high five All-BIG EAST showings at the championship season, highlighted by a gold medal with the 800 Free Relay. She swam to silver medals and personal bests in the 200 IM (2:00.36) and 200 Fly (1:58.37), adding a personal best in the 100 Fly (53.65). Those butterfly times put the Edina, Minn. native near the top of the program's record book as the second-fastest performer in each. She also swam to bronze medals with two other relays, helping the 400 Medley Relay (3:41.23) as the butterfly leg (53.26) and posted a 51.08 second leg time with the 400 Free Relay (3:21.33).
 
Fegley, majoring in biology, scored a program-best 287.00 in the 3 Meter prelims at this year's BIG EAST Championship to land a spot in the championship finals for a second straight year where she ended up fourth (279.90). The Easton, Pa. native also finished ninth in the 1 Meter (263.05).
 
Lee scored gold at the BIG EAST Championships for a third straight season and her second individually in the 100 Fly in back-to-back seasons. She reset the program record yet again in that event, besting last year's 53.31time with a 53.13 this season. A native of Marlboro, N.J., she swam the opening backstroke leg (54.58) for the bronze-medal 400 Medley Relay (3:41.23) and had a bronze showing in the 100 Back (54.20). The finance major also received an Academic All-District Team nod from the CSC after the season.
 
White, majoring in biology, was a silver medalist at this year's BIG EAST Championship in the 1650 Free, posting a time of 16:31.93 to become the eighth-fastest performer in team history and garner the fourth All-BIG EAST performance in her career. She added Championship Final appearances in the 200 Fly (1:59.87) and 500 Free (4;50.38), finishing in fifth in both.
