VILLANOVA, Pa. – The Villanova Men's Soccer match against Rider, which was suspended Thursday afternoon in the 18
th minute due to an active shooter alert on Villanova's West Campus, will resume Friday at 4 p.m.

Villanova held a 2-0 lead when play was suspended at approximately 4:35 p.m. Thursday. At that point 17:49 of the scheduled 90 minutes had been played.

The campus-wide alert was rescinded after 6 p.m. It was determined by law enforcement authorities that no active shooter was present and no injuries were sustained.

The first Wildcats goal was scored by West Virginia transfer
Sam Nyenka after a scramble in front of the Bronc net. Graduate student
Michael teDuits was credited with the assist.

Fynn Lahrsen later converted a penalty kick for the Wildcats after Rider was whistled for a handball inside its own 18-yard box.
